We’ve spent years and millions of dollars teaching our kids to stand up to bullies and bullying. When it came to COVID-19 “vaccine bullying”, many of us were caught off guard. But bullying is exactly what it was. And once it’s labeled, it’s easier to tackle using anti-bullying tactics.
Bullies prey on isolation. Lockdowns and working from home may have been implemented to reduce COVID-19 spread, but it also worked to isolate folks, preventing them from finding strength amongst peers when mandates were rolled out. Perfect for the vaccine bullies to target their prey.
Bullies love shaming their targets. For the vaccine bully, anyone who didn’t get jabbed was shameful, selfish, ignorant, an “anti-vaxxer”, guilty of self-evident misconduct to be further isolated and targeted as a result.
Tamara Lich, in many of her public statements — consciously or instinctively — applied many of the anti-bullying tactics promoted on the SavvyMom website:
No retaliation;
Stay positive and peaceful;
Power in numbers;
Avoid direct provocation.
